Kristin Elmquist, ABCDT, CSMT II, CNWI
Kristin is a professional dog trainer. An ABC mentor trainer, a Canine Sports Massage Therapist II (CSMT), a Certified Canine Nose Work Instructor (CNWI), a Canine Good Citizen evaluator, and a member of the Association of Pet Dog Trainers (APDT) and the International Association of Animal Massage & Bodywork (IAAMB).
Kristin has more than 30 years of experience training and showing her own dogs, and has been teaching agility and obedience classes for more than a decade. In 2005, she left her previous career as a software trainer to set up her own business, For The Love of Dogs, LLC.
A strong advocate for science-based dog training, Kristin helps people train their dogs into great family companions using only humane, positive reinforcement methods. To keep up with the latest developments in canine behavioral science, she attends workshops with industry leaders like Turid Rugaas, Patricia McConnell, as well as champion agility teachers like Susan Garrett, Tracy Sklenar, Terry Smorch, and Susan Salo.
In addition to running her business, Kristin fosters and trains dogs for the Aussie Rescue of Minnesota. She also volunteers her time and expertise at Coco’s Heart Dog Rescue in St. Paul.
Kristin lives in Hudson, WI, with her son, dogs, chickens & horses.
