WAG-IT Dog Sports

WAG-ITWAG-IT Dog Sports are a variety of sports based on traditional canine competitive sports such as agility, Treiball, Rally Obedience, and scent work with a focus on accessibility for all dogs and handlers. Offering fun sports you can play at home or even compete in through video submission or actual trials, For The Love of Dogs has classes in Dog Ball, Obstacle Skills and Shadow Skills, giving you many ways to have a great time running and playing with your dog while learning new skills and keeping your dog’s life enriched and exciting.

Our classes are taught by Tier 2 WAG-It(R) training instructors with years of dog training and competition experience to draw upon in helping to teach your dog a variety of skills.

Dog Ball

Prerequisite: Basic Obedience

Your dog learns how to maneuver a large inflated ball through a course as directed by their handler. You start with basic targeting and body positioning work with your dog, then you and your dog build skills in moving a ball a certain direction and working at distance. The last week of class may be a video competition opportunity, depending on the skill level of the class.
Prerequisite: basic obedience, your dog should be able to behave around other dogs in a class setting, and you need to have done some kind of reward based training with your dog.

Shadow Skills

Prerequisite: Basic Obedience

Combining Rally Obedience and Freestyle skills, teams perform an numbered course with the dog shadowing their handler. Dogs work on both sides of their handler performing a variety of twists, turns, exercises, and side changes.
Prerequisite: obedience skills, your dog should have a decent sit, down, stay, and come.
Cost: $115.00
Length: 6 weeks

Obstacle Skills

Prerequisite: Basic Obedience

Teams maneuver a numbered course of diverse obstacle challenges and tricks, like pushing buttons, hoops, ladders, tunnels, turns and much more
Prerequisite: obedience skills, your dog should have a decent sit, down, stay, and come.
Cost: $115.00
Length: 6 weeks
